After a shower where I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max in the bathroom, my s*** started flickering. After a while the whole screen went black but the iPhone still works. Sounds, Siri, touch everything works besides the screen.

Im actually posting by touching the iPhone now and using a usb display mirroring app to see the screen on my laptop.

How f***ed am I? Apple care recently ran up and im not paying apple $600 to replace this.

Is it worth getting it fixed at a small shop or should I just get a new phone?

Get a new screen.

Display is probably cooked, since everything works a new screen should fix it.

Screen started working again this morning but the digitizer stopped working.

Ended up buying an iPhone 14 Plus

I always have my phone in the bathroom with me while showering didn’t know this could happen

Ended up selling the broken phone in one of those ecoatm machines outside of Walmart
