So, apparently, Michael C. Hall was pitched a 3-season run for this iteration of the show, with the potential for more seasons (if he's willing to keep going after that).
This has been killing it numbers-wise so expect a renewal soon, possibly a 2-season renewal. We're getting at least 30 episodes of Dexter: Resurrection
That's good news. This season has been really good imo so far

Same. One of the best seasons of Dexter overall imo. I'm really surprised at how well they were able to continue to story and how strong the writing has been.
You know Michael C. Hall will always turn in a great performance but I had my doubts about how strong of a story they could tell after so many years and so far, so good, I've been very impressed with the twist and turns.

Oh yeah, 100%. It's been fantastic. I thought after he got shot it would get into silly territory but they've brushed past it effectively really well.
It's just the ending I'm worried about lol

Seeing as they have a 3-season arc planned, I think they'll stick the landing this time, if only because they know they have to keep the story going.
how can you not like batista? lol
but yo i actually like this call about harrison being the one. i can totally see this happening. him protecting dexter once batista has him "caught"
Idk dude a lame especially with woman lol
But yeah I could def see that

I feel like it's gonna have to end sooner than later, gonn need a proper ending to the legacy that is Dexter Morgan, and I don't see it being a "happy" one tbh and I'm ok with that
But this season is incredible just wow.

I actually wished they'd ended things on the original Dexter. It's unfortunate that things fell off after S4 but S7 & S8 were especially horrid.
Hopefully, this new series gives Dexter a proper ending/sendoff.

he's annoying
Newest ep was heat
Yeah I’m legit shook that each episode has been so peak lmao waiting for the drop off like a hater but it just keeps delivering
First episode was so fire, had the same vibes of New Blood that I enjoyed with lots of fanservice
Took me back to the good ol days, I'm in for a ride
I know I’m late as s*** but I’m currently watching the original show for the first time and it’s fire. Almost on season 4
Damn @op
https://twitter.com/discussingfilm/status/1958967205019656678damn, what the hell. show was actually really solid
. Guess it makes sense with them probably just wanting to get more of Resurrection out and the prequel stuff isn't necessarily required, but still kinda sucks.
edit: yeah, the new leadership with Paramount wants more of a focus on
Resurrection
"A Season 2 renewal announcement went out in April, but sources say the series has in fact been on hiatus and no plans to shoot a second season had moved forward and no production dates were scheduled. The show had originally debuted in December 2024 and wrapped up its first, and now only season, in February.
The decision to not proceed with a second season of “Original Sin” comes not long after the closing of the Skydance-Paramount merger. Matt Thunell, who counts Showtime’s production operations as part of his new purview, and his team are said to be reevaluating the entire slate at the premium cabler and beyond. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Thunell and his team decided to focus on “Resurrection” and Hall’s role as Morgan as they look to continue the “Dexter” franchise."
