Can’t this just be seen as Protagonist/Antagonist relationships? Which would apply to other filmmakers movies too
Kill Bill as one film is one of his best. The perfect encapsulation of him totally indulging in all of his sensibilities and interests while crafting one of his most emotionally engaging stories. Jackie Brown is fantastic but it’s the “overrated” boring choice at this point for his best. People confuse its relative restraint and focus on middle aged relationships as it being more sophisticated. It’s certainly top 5, but I agree with QT when he says “if you think Jackie Brown is my best, you don’t get or like my work”. Obviously there’s exceptions to this, but I think this is generally true.
It's Uma, I find her really annoying in Kill Bill. Most of her dialogue is atrocious and she always has this look on her face like every line is so f***ing clever when it's just Quentin being a cheeseball. And I normally dig Uma, especially in Pulp Fiction, so it's just KB that doesn't work for me.
I thought David Carradine's scenes with her were pretty dumb too aside for the last one which is also one of the best from the two movies imo. Hattori Hanzo, Pai Mei and Gogo is good s*** too.
Can’t shoot Mr. Greenaway
I’ll boom Peter

Yikes you don’t like strong female characters
Boom means shoot.
you gon shoot him in the ass? wtf
I'd just keep my script and shot list separate. I feel you can still convey a lot of imagery through descriptions without being fussy about the specifics.
Also if it's a script for your own personal project there's nothing wrong with adding shots. But if it's a script you're sending off to producers or competitions it may not be taken seriously.
i've yet to find that balance which you're describing, but to be honest, I haven't really tried to separate the two that much because I never thought about sending out specs to producers/production companies. the biz is incredibly incestous here, so I never toyed with that idea.
competitions is however different, i'd really have to clean it up
perhaps it stems from the fact that i never thought about actually making anything and just writing for fun until i discovered hal hartley's films almost two years ago, they always feel empowering in the sense that I can do it too. up until then shooting script was the endgame and the "film"
a bad habit waiting to get broken
Wait are you saying you could barely tell the episodes apart with TOTDY or Copenhagen?
copenhagen

Sort of. Other filmmakers do it too, but I feel like the way PTA does it more often feels specific to that layout.

Do you wanna know why that is? Or at least my assumption, QT said over 50% of the dialogue of Kill Bill came from s*** he overheard Uma saying in real life conversations…he would hear it and write it down whenever they hung out.

So Uma talks like an annoying comic book character in real life?
I felt like Django was too long
That’s why I have it as the weakest of the Tarantino I’ve seen
Felt like he was feelin himself, really just extending his drum solo on that one

That’s a fact he knows how to really hone in on the dynamic of two people
Nigga how tf you watch that already?!?
i saw it last month at the stockholm film festival, the nordic premiere.
dude's a funny guy for real
the Q&A was literally him just shooting the s***
