Happy Gilmore is an underrated arthouse masterpiece of contemporary times. Pretentious comedy film still gets a laugh over 20 years.
There's Something About Mary really is tho
I would put it on the same level as the OG Heartbreak Kid
Y’all I been thinking all damn day about getting to Shoah pt2. What are the goat documentaries + essay films? It was hoop dreams for me before this
F Is for Fake & The Gleaners are both phenomenal too
All those supposed “entry level” directors people dismiss you might have a phase where you think you’ve grow out of them and then you come back around and realize they’re just incredible and consistent.
Like when you revisited Guy Ritchie and realized he's still your goat

We already talk about TraumaZone?
I wouldnt call them bad but I do find the Kill Bill movies mostly lame and insufferable these days. As a teenager I thought they were coolest s*** ever.
Kill Bill was my favorite Tarantino until I saw Lady Snowblood. There’s way too many similarities for me, and Lady Snowblood is already quality af so it’s not like QT is upgrading his influences there
Now my fav is Reservoir Dogs
Kill Bill as one film is one of his best. The perfect encapsulation of him totally indulging in all of his sensibilities and interests while crafting one of his most emotionally engaging stories. Jackie Brown is fantastic but it’s the “overrated” boring choice at this point for his best. People confuse its relative restraint and focus on middle aged relationships as it being more sophisticated. It’s certainly top 5, but I agree with QT when he says “if you think Jackie Brown is my best, you don’t get or like my work”. Obviously there’s exceptions to this, but I think this is generally true.
Why would he say this. How often to directors say s*** like that?

Naw, I wanna watch tho! I’ve only seen Hyperrealisation which was cool

Cause he's a f***in weirdo

I think besides Pulp Fiction for pop culture his best are his last two joints, Hollywood and Hateful 8 broski. They feel like something special
Cause he's a f***in weirdo
All directors say dumb s*** sometimes. They're just people at the end of the day.

Agreed on PF and H8

Nah he weird

Yea I only seen Hollywood twice and its the movie QT should be making at this point imo. I would love to see him tackle something like a modern day Sweet Smell of Success, something with reporters

I could definitely see QT being inspired by sweet smell of success
Why would he say this. How often to directors say s*** like that?
It’s arrogance, Jackie Brown isn’t “QT at his fullest” so he prolly believes if you like Jackie Brown the most it’s more so cus you like Elmore and not QT
Agreed on PF and H8
Do you think QT made the right choice by removing Django from Hateful 8?
Y’all I been thinking all damn day about getting to Shoah pt2. What are the goat documentaries + essay films? It was hoop dreams for me before this

F is for fake or Hoop dreams honestly. I like Paris is burning too

But what happens when you watch City on fire? Or The Killing or the other films that heavily influenced RD
How many are you at now?
I'm at 153 personal favourites
Do you think QT made the right choice by removing Django from Hateful 8?
Probably could have been done organically what with Django having to flee to the north most likely but I'm still glad he didn't. H8ful it's own beast.
Oh yeah 100. Just make it however many it is instead of rounding it up or down.
