    TLDR;
    Rainey was handcuffed in a shower for two hours. It was designed so that he had no control over the temperature of the 180 °F (82 °C) water. He died from burns to more than ninety percent of his body. It subsequently became known that his skin "fell off at the touch".

    At least eight other prisoners had also been subjected to a scalding shower within Dade's "Transitional Care Unit".

    Originally the police classified the death as unexplained, and the DOC never punished any staff. Two officers on duty at the time of the death later received promotions.

    Darren Rainey was a 50 year old, non-violent offender serving a two year sentence for cocaine possession in Florida’s Dade Correctional Institution. He was housed in the psychiatric ward because he was schizophrenic.

    For reasons unknown, Rainey, a schizophrenic, had smeared feces on himself. When guards told him to clean it up, he refused.

    He was then hauled off and handcuffed in “the shower”. Scalding water poured over him for up to two hours. While he screamed in agony and for his life, officers reportedly taunted “how do you like your shower?”. When ‘clean up’ was called in, chunks of skin that had separated from his body were part of what remained.

    According to reporting, “The shower was just one tool the corrections officers used to torment prisoners in the ward, known as the transitional care unit.”

    Two full years after his death, no-one had been held responsible.

    In January 2016, the Miami-Dade Coroner's Office completed the autopsy of Darren Rainey. The autopsy was leaked to the Miami Herald and ruled Rainey's death as accidental, stemming from a combination of the confinement in the shower, his heart/lung problems and his schizophrenia. The coroner did not determine that the staff did not intend to hurt Rainey nor that the shower had excessive heat. The final autopsy has not been released to the public.

    we fell for all types of mental gymnastics in the 2010's

    "sjw's", "thought police", "dindus" you name it.

    the 2020's might be our last shot if we're being honest.

    man all I can say is, it has to be "fuck you period" to racists from 2020 on, just like we do sexual offenders, sparking a dialogue and kneeling certainly doesn't work.

    The 2020's has to be the end of all of this.
