If Mario can do it why can’t silent hill

I'm sad that I never got far with Silent Hill 2 Directors Cut because I love the atmosphere and all that fog. Reached those apartments where Pyramid head is first seen but the game kept on crashing.

Game is apparently 16-18 hours.
