I don't know why I like survival horror games I can barely play them

Most of these type are pretty accessible though its not that scary if thats what you mean

im the same dude lmfao 2 & 3 are my favorite games ever but and im enjoying the remake, but I can only do 1-2 hour sessions before I tap out for the day

OG, remake is not bad (only 3 hours in but enjoying it so far) but if thats what gets you to play it go ahead

im tempted to do remake bc of the directors comments ab the camera but part of me feels like i should play og first

i know ive been begging my little cousin to play og mgs 3 despite some wonky out dated controls (no crouch walk is still crazy to me after playing it on 3ds)

SH2 pretty scary imo

Remake (again, not too far in but I don't see these observations changing) cleaned up a lot of the rougher edges. Biggest examples are that the combat feels like real video gamey combat with dodging and no auto aim, and the voice acting is good but lost basically all of the uncanny charm of the original. OG nails the lynchian vibe perfectly and everything that's 'bad' about it (facial animations, disempowering combat, wonky voice acting, etc.) only enhances the themes and the game as a whole.

That being said if you're gonna put off playing the OG since u gotta emulate/pirate, then f*** it just play the remake, and you're still bound to get a lot of value out of the OG whenever you do get to it

Also the PS2 graphics are literally peak for horror

yeah idc what anyone says, playing these in the dark with headphones is genuinely super scary. 3 has those f***ing flying monsters that sound like chainsaws, that sound is permanently etched in my brain

F***ing love what they did to the double leg mannequin monster. Them pretending to be actual mannequins but still moving slightly, and them running away to hide in a corner if you see em from a distance is amazing

Seeing this has’t been running that great on PC. Should I cop this on PS5 or PC?

Sign of a good horror game imo. Not something you can play all day because you feel stressed and tense while playing.

Don’t know anything abt the pc version but PS5 is a little choppy even on performance mode just so u know

I want to play this but I really despise starting a series from a sequel. So I'll wait an see if they release a simple upres port of the old games first. Shocked it's still locked away on old consoles.

There is minimal if any connection to the first one other than the setting. Silent hill 3 is an actual story sequel to 1 though
