To anyone who’s beaten the game or knows the story, a question:

At what point does what’s going on narratively speaking start to become more clear? I just passed the hospital and I’m really enjoying the game but I feel like I still have absolutely no idea what is going on with the story.

For context, my playtime is at about 8 hours right now, so I was expecting to be a little more in tune with what’s happening considering I’m about halfway through.

I know that people say the story is more revealed through interacting with the world rather than through cutscenes, so I’m just hoping that I didn’t miss or overlook anything so far

There's a lot of symbolism that you probably won't pick up on right away but definitely stick with it and the past events will make a lot more sense once you've progressed and especially once you're finish with the game.

The remake presents the story a little differently than the original game. Haven’t fully beaten it, but from what I’ve played so far you don’t need to worry about missing anything by not being thorough.

The further in you get the more will start to make sense. It’s intentionally vague about what’s going on in the first sections.

Yea I heard the stuttering was pretty bad, I hate the s***ty optimization that PC ports have been getting the last couple of years

It’s such a bummer that what I’ve played so far has been really good, it’s just the game doesn’t want to cooperate

Shaving off the backlog in the meantime

You still have a ways to go before things start to click and even then a lot can be confusing, it’s a psych horror meant to mess with your head and make you uncomfortable. One of the best stories in videogame history tho, once it clicks s*** is heavy. I cried at the end of my first playthrough of the og still haven’t beat the remake

Bet, I'm really enjoying it so far. I can see what you guys are talking about with the symbolism and some things being intentionally vague, I think I have a slight idea of where it's going. I just got to the Toluca Prison and had to stop playing for the night because I felt like I was losing my mind

    i bet that looks crisp.the music >>>

i am playing on my 55 inch and it looks still good. i've always been able to play older games. Remakes can lose the orignal vibes and hearing the PS1 launch sound again was very nostalgic. So far the game is cool. I have to remember PS1 didn't have a***og sticks.

Yea the prison section is one of the most intense sections of that game and it doesn't really let up after that either

  • Oct 18, 2024

this s*** was good af I just finished

  • Oct 18, 2024

Probably GOTY for me. A lil too padded out to extend the game, my only criticism

  • Oct 18, 2024

even with mostly knowing what to expect, the prison & labyrinth sections were some of the most intense “levels” I’ve ever gotten through
