what I mean is, almost all venues are cashless now (29/30 NFL stadiums are cashless) so artists have to rely on the credit card service the venue is using (?) and more often than not it’s square.

so now artists have to give a percentage of their sales to square, who just so happen to be partners with the venue the artist is performing at? maybe someone with more knowledge on how s*** has shifted can speak on it. where you were probably making all your money back on merch or a high amount, now you have no choice but to give up a percentage since it’s kind of been normalized to use square machines at venues.

I was just thinking about this once I realized I haven’t seen cash at venues in at least a year. this is f***ed up for artists even more if that’s the case

    Absolutely and I hate that

I use cash for almost all my expenditures.
