I personally feel as in terms of big releases that it's been pretty solid. Cole dropped. Drake is about to drop CLB. Kendrick eventually. We finally got Zaywop back. Hopefully some more TDE drops.

Yachty (who I've grown to liking as his new rebrand is nice) dropped some decent stuff.

Uzi waiting for the drop? I think if we get some more people to release like Vince Staples, Maxo Kream, etc (lesser popular acts w/ dedicated fanbases) this year could be great.

In terms of NEW artists, I will have to say I'm very, very unimpressed though. I don't want to turn this into a complaint thread but so many of these guys and the sound they are using right now is just awful. Too much oversaturation right now, seems like EVERYONE and their grandmothers are trying to become rappers. Unfortunately.

Next issue I'm feeling is that these TikTok artists/songs that people are blowing up are god damn terrible. It's kind of ridiculous how someone can blow up on a meme hit and chart. While a serious artist who has been putting in work for years can't even break 15k streams on Spotify.

As I said though, I don't want to really just complain. There is a lot of good rap HIDDEN. I've been doing alot of digging on spotify related artists and you'd be surprised how much dope s*** is there. Problem is; it's not popular at all. I find that a problem is people KEEP consistently just try to chase "what's hot/next" and when someone blows up; they just abandon them. Anyone else feel this?

I REALLY hope s*** changes in the next few years for the better.
