one look at the dev crew tells you all you need to know tbh. it’s like they made sure to not involve people who are actually into skating in this at all lmao

i know this reads like i‘m just hating on everything, but apart from the gameplay this game really has NOTHING going for it, it‘s actually shocking

the game is a glorified parkour simulator with some skating involved

it kills me clothes are mostly locked behind loot boxes or in game store

Game feels really great to play; it’s just the overall visuals have this washed-out sheen to it, almost like they applied some pastel filter, which brings the whole game down a little.

I think this "issue" stems from the fact that it’s also releasing on mobile devices.

I was going to point out how the skaters’ faces look so off, but gameplay-wise, that matters f**k all to me.

As for the lack of modes/objectives, I believe they’re going to add those eventually (there’s a roadmap for upcoming content drops).

Personally I barely touch missions in Skate games; you’re going to catch me spending lots of time on a single spot trying to perfect a trick/line/combo and then getting the best clip out of it via the replay editor.

Same. The art style sucks and the vibe is super Disney corporate weird theme park vibes, but idc.

And in terms of content (or a huge huge huge lack thereof) im fine with waiting for them to add it all and slowly make this a meaty experience (pause)

I play skate 1,2 and 3 a LOT and I rarely do the actual missions or tasks. I did them all when starting the saves but once they’re done, you then just use the save to skate around and find spots and stuff. That’s 95% of what I’ve used skate for, so I’m totally happy with what we got rn.

I want a brain off ASMR type satisfying relaxing skate sandbox with the skate controls, fire map/gaps and updated animations and that’s what it is in its free day 1 state. I’m happy!
