Starting my retinol journey since I canā€™t go out anywhere anyway. Iā€™m a little nervous for potential purging but I canā€™t wait to see the results

    dermstore.com/product_Age+Defense+Retinol+Complex+25_55450.htm

Itā€™s a small percentage and the formulation seems good so Iā€™m not too worried. Used it for the first time last wednesday, felt a couple little Small breakouts on my forehead, but I got them to go away after a couple days. Gonna use once a week for the next month or so and then ramp up depending on how my skin is feeling

    Iā€™m starting on .25

not good i havenā€™t been able to resolve my acne no matter what iā€™ve tried

i was on 0.025 for like 6 months and my face completely cleared up

as soon as i had a minor breakout i thought i should get ahead of it so i moved up to 0.05 for 4 months and been on 0.1 for 2 months and iā€™m still breaking out as much as ever

i donā€™t think the tret is making it worse or anything but i was hoping it would make things better

Didnā€™t read the entire thread, but the Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling solution is the product Iā€™ve used that had me see the most results in clearing my skin. Donā€™t know if anyone has mentioned it yet.

I was nervous too, Iā€™ve never used a peel of any sorts and the price almost seemed to good to be true. But I am definitely satisfied with the results and see a difference within a month and a half and Iā€™ve barely made a dent in the dropper bottle.

gotcha itā€™s still most likely not gonna be very effective, tretinoin is the gold standard for anti aging

look at the prescription vs non prescription paragraph webmd.com/beauty/features/retinoids-for-aging-skin

ā€œtretinoin and retinoic acid (Retin-A, Renova, Refissa) that is "100 times" as potent as the retinol-containing products sold without prescriptionā€

ā€œGenerally, it takes about 3 to 6 months of daily use to notice a difference. With prescription retinoids, a patient might notice smoother, more even-toned skin in as early as 6 to 8 weeks.ā€

I saw a video about this one and I am new to the skincare game, is this for exfoliating and what's the difference between AHA and BHA?

Currently only washing my face, moisturizer and sun screen. Sometimes witch hazel and a face mask but I need a cleanser too, but so many products and terms out here but want to step up

Your current routine is good! Both are exfoliants. I think the difference between AHAs and BHAs is that AHAs are supposed to make skin peel and reveal fresh skin while BHAs go deep into your bores to reveal excess oil. AHAs are good for hyperpigmentation and scarring, while BHAs are good for acne. If you have particularly sensitive skin then it might be irritating to your skin, but if not itā€™s pretty cool.
