I remember it was back in like ‘08 or ‘09 when everyone kept saying that ur skin becomes “addicted” to the products, not necessarily a purge phase. But that was a long time ago and im sure it was just some rumor someone wanted to start

you won’t find a good face mask at target trust me, let me know what type of skin you have & what you’re looking for

You need a heavy AHA - check out PC 8% AHA (Gel)
Also make sure you’re staying hydrated & applying products with tons of niacinamide & hyaluronic acid
CC can sometimes be caused due to lack of hydration in the skin and a broken moisture barrier

i figured, i didn’t buy anything. i have white skin with moderate acne and it’s more on the dry side. just been using a face wash, moisturizer/sunscreen and lactic acid daily and its slowly gotten better, but there’s so many blackheads still and i was just wondering what could help

See i have acne prone skin/combo
I used BHA PC not sure if it solved much but i'm tempted to get Ordinary BHA/AHA mix
I use a lot of Cerave products (cleanser + pm moisturiser)

With retinol it’s ALL about hydration cause the potency will chip away at your skin.
When I was using it, I had 2 products that literally saved me from the dryness & provided heavy moisture & strong barrier protection.
Contains lots of ceramides, fatty acids, niacinamide, rose hip oil, cranberry seed oil & packed with numerous other essentials
This will help your skin retain all the ingredients and keep the moisture locked in as well as protect it from environmental stresses. I wouldn’t consider it a moisturizer even though it’s labelled as one. It’s more of a prepper.
The moisturizer is one thing in my routine that I bounce around with depending on my skins needs or the season. For Retin A users I’d recommend something heavy, I personally used:
Other lightweight options are:
These can work if your previous steps also provide moisture.

love this thank you. with the strata, do you use it after the retin a but before the moisturizer? and would you also use it prior to your moisturizer & sunscreen during the day time? or is it something you only use at night?
as for a cleanser, is there anything in particular you recommend? ive been hesitant in picking one due to many of them being drying from what I read online.
but thank you again bro, ima definitely look into picking up that dr jart cream you recommended sometime tonight
I’m aware that my skin was dry so I needed hydrating cleanser. I have the cerave, and the cetaphil face moisturizer. I drink a gallon of water a day. Is there anything else I really need after that?

No worries fam!
So for Stratia, you’d want to use it as a first or second step depending on your routine.
For me, it was before moisturizer. My routine used to be:
Water Cleanser (CeraVe Foaming)
Essence (Hada Lobo Goku)
Don’t worry too much on oil cleansing although I highly recommend it especially if you’re using sunscreen (which everyone should always) but in your case, yeah Stratia should be 1st or 2nd depending if you have an essence.
Essence is basically a product that has a concentrated and high percentage of a single ingredient. I used one that had 5 types of Hyaluronic acid for maximum hydration. It’s optional but definitely helps against dryness from retinol.
As far as cleaner, you honestly can’t go wrong with CeraVe’s Facial Foaming Cleanser. I’ve tried high end cleansers and still find myself coming back to this. Its the best d*** store product there is. Cheap, reliable & lasts a very long time. Also has hyaluronic acid, ceramides & niacinamide!

Read my last post. If you’re still finding yourself with dry skin, look into an essence.
Two fantastic & affordable options. There’s more high end options but look into these two.

this man giving everyone free knowledge
so youve been using your retin a during the day as well? i want to pick up the Stratia, Dr. Jart, and CeraVe and slowly add in the other stuff you recommended as well. The oil cleanser and essence definitely peak my interest too.
Would you use that same routine at night (minus the sunscreen)
I'm glad you said that about the CeraVe cleanser because that was the one everyone kept recommending though I wanted to see if there were better options out there but ima drop by Target tomorrow to pick it up lol. I had the cetaphil gentle cleanser but I didn't like it and reviews online were saying it wasnt the best option.
Sorry for bombarding you with questions lol, i really appreciate it

I’m not on retinol right now so the products are a bit different but yes, it was essentially the same during the night excluding the retinol & sunscreen.
Don’t use retinol during the day you’re just asking to destroy your skin. I’d always suggest using chemical exfoliants & retinol during the night. If you’ve just began using it limit your uses too as it’s very strong.
No problem fam, @ me if you need any help or suggestions
