Thatās awesome to hear fam! Hope you continue to see results from the routine!
I definitely would not use BHA & Retin A in the same routine, thatās a very easy way to over exfoliate & destroy your moisture barrier. Along with that, they both work under different conditions, BHA functions best at a low PH and retinoids work best at a more neutral PH.
I actually use Retin A too (0.05%) - not that I need it but I do like having it in my routine & I love the 2% BHA so I get your urge to use both. If I do apply Retin A, I give a day where I donāt use any actives before I apply the other.
So essentially i can use everything else (toner, essence) with the retin-a but just avoid the PC BHA?

Yes - those (toner, essence) aren't actives so it's okay.
Im only on day two of this routine but my goodness this s*** is goat
If i were to plug retin-a in would i put it between essence and moisturizer? Im thinking of doing my night routine as
Face wash
Toner
PC BHA
essence
Retin-a
Moisturizer
but idk if thats overkill or not and if i should just alternate nights for PC BHA and retin-a like youāve suggested in the past
what % retin-a you using?
yo im trying to step up my game. what should I do?
Oat So Simple Water Cream: Honestly, for the price, there's much better formulations out there. The only notable ingredient I see is squalene which is great for hydration but there should be other supporting properties in a moisturizer, especially if you're looking for a daytime one,
An essence is basically a product which has a potent and concentrated amount of high quality ingredients. It allows the brand to just pack one highly effective property to its full potential. There's some that focus on hyaluronic acid and will provide 5 different types of it in a single product - something you won't find in a moisturizer.
Real Ferment Micro Essence: This is really good, great recommendation by your girl. From the first to last ingredients, it's infused with some fantastic ingredients! I might have to pick this up myself when my current one runs out.
Green Tea Fresh Toner: This is good for $20, can't think of another toner off the top of my head that can give this a run. I'm not too die hard on toners, I prefer an essence over them but this is cool.
For a moisturizer, I'd personally recommend the PC Omega+, been using it since it launched and It's grown to be my go-to, especially for the summer time, it's super lightweight with a velvet cloud feel. Also, packed with nutritious ingredients for the skin (passion fruit & guava extracts) that I haven't seen in any other products. It retails for $35 but PC are always running promos to where you can grab it for $28 with taxes and shipping.
So naturally, you want to use toners day and night. It preps your skin for the following products. The essence is optional to use during the day, i still use mine day and night.
This should be a basic daytime routine:
@Campari what essence would you recommend?
It depends on what you're looking for but if it's hydration & glowness than two affordable options are:
High end option:
A luxury option:
Personally, I'd recommend the Hadalabo, it's affordable, lasts a very long time and will provide lots of hydration giving your skin a healthy and glowing look.

Dry cheeks & an oily t-zone tell me you need to exfoliate and moisturize.
Firstly, an oily t-zone means thereās been a lack of deep cleansing: a good BHA will go in below the surface and cleanse all your pores, tackle excess sebum and bring everything to a head.
Secondly, a hard hitting moisturizer to combat the deep cleanse and hydrate will keep everything under wraps
A good serum to combat your issue directly:
Iād look into these two products, make sure your other products donāt contain any drying ingredients like alcohol and focus on hyaluronic acid, niacinamide & ceramides.

Probably a dumb question but I wanna put sunscreen on my face during the summer but I don't want to mess up the chemistry of my cleansers and moisturisers, this may be nothing but what's the best way to handle this?

Legit I have no idea what I'm talking about, my dad always told me never to mix skincare brands when I was younger but now that I think about it he was probably talking out of his ass, anyways, it made me wary of messing with too many things on my face at once
I guess my question would be, is it fine to put on sunscreen soon after moisturiser?
