don't feel bad man, it is a 7/10 game. nostalgia and longing for an era where games weren't constantly released in a broken state or full of microtransactions has people looking back at certain games and putting them on a pedestal. it's fun and one of the better open world games of the era but it's def reached the point of being overhyped for what it is

Story just never got me invested. I didn't care about the protagionist or the "dilemma" he faced by being undercover. Can't even remember what happens. The old white cop betrays him at the end?

Open world was basic with little interactivity or immersion for the player

Melee combat was fun, but still kinda clunky. Gun combat was mid with no weight to it

It just felt like an above average game, which is fine. I was just disappointed because of how much people praise the game

Replaying this now. Game was dope. I love the destruction in the environments when in combat and using the environment to f*** niggas up. Slamming dudes into lockers or into dumpsters etc. It was really unique and made every combat encounter nor get boring g. I forgot that guns are not even that prevalent in the game from what I remember. And the world was super detailed with a lot of charm packed in with what we know was a fraction of a Rockstar game. Not the greatest game of all time but but a valiant effort for sure.

The combat is obviously the thing everyone loves in this game but the shooting isn’t too bad either the sound of the guns and satisfaction with headshots / slow mo kills is fun

Unbelievably worth it. Might buy on Xbox and replay tbh. Played the original on PlayStation but don’t think I ever played the remaster.

The remaster looks clean and slick as hell on ps5. Game had a lot of love put into it you can tell and the remaster brings that out even more.

Lowkey wish the name stayed True Crime (I know the deal with why it's changed) so it could feel more like part of that trilogy. I remember the first trailer had ke hooked when it was still called true crime Hong Kong
