i figured that. but i know some bigger underground artist like apathy who use some recognizable samples and does the same s***. I have no problem with this at all i just recognized quite a few of the samples some of these artist on this thread used and im like how lol. If i do this i feel like im a get caught real quick idk
if you ever "get caught" it's a good sign cause you probably HUGE enough to afford to take the "losses" (like Juice Wrld for example)
Most niggas (cause there's been tracks where MIKE has just rapped over the sample just as is) don't really get that big enough to get "sample snitched" and actually caught/taken to court like that. Otherwise, Knxwledge would be facing lawsuits every other album he actually releases for streaming. And that nigga's won a grammy lol.
New MIKE vid out now
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM52gFmY0hQDisco is gonna be his most upbeat and posiitve album yet
one of Tanzawa's best yet tbh
and another great song. Hype for the album
I love these niggas but how can y’all listen to em all day like that
I don't listen to just rap but when it's rap it's mostly this scene tbh
just the most interesting new s*** rn. Already lots of classics and you can spend all day listening just to recent drops as well

Eh I feel you I mean I keep to certain artists in this scene but to have my entire rap listening experience revolve around just them s*** just be brain jogging I be needing a break
True Sky on first listen is not as immediate as AASB for me, AKAI raps are usually too abstract to really get a grip on right away too. Navy beats are also fittingly abstract and very different from his more soul sample-based s***. Not an easy listen tbh but I feel like this one will be a grower, it's a pretty unique sound
Akai interview next week if there’s any questions
What’s the best thing he read lately?
Favorite conspiracy theory?
Akai’s one of the best esotericists in rap, do all his bars have a deeper known meaning when he puts it on the page? Or is it about what sounds right at first, and then the deeper meaning is found through post a***ysis?
Favorite part of BK? I feel like I saw him on the A train once
Akai interview next week if there’s any questions
maybe ask how he got introduced to the alternative rap scene, like what artists if any did he listen to in that vein. i feel like he's got some more influence from cannibal ox/early def jux compared to the rest of the related artists.
Akai getting metaphysical on these weird beats >>>
Twice Twilight + Wound Cries r so hard
Akai interview next week if there’s any questions
If he can talk on his relationship with billy woods and how his approach differs, if any, in making his upcoming release on the Backwoodz label.

Perfectly said as always.
Akai is by far the best rapper of this movement
Damn this take is a bit wild for me tho while there's still Mike and Mavi who I feel got more versatile + melodic flows. I enjoy their lyrics more too tbh
Akai is by far the best rapper of this movement
Damn, hot take
I feel like Mike or Mavi both have pretty good claims to that

MIKE is my favourite and probably makes the best music but from a technical standpoint and pure rapping ability he’s not the best

I hear you. I personally get tired of his rhyming style pretty quickly at times tho
But yeah Akai is really really special

I guess for AKAI he just doesn't hit like that emotionally for me? At least so far

They're more versatile but MIKE is not outrapping Akai man no way
