Bro I really really love navy, and his production is generally great to me.
But WHY has he sworn himself to making collab albums with B listers in this scene
Cmon fam what's a b lister.. Didn't know Ankhlejohn at all but he made a fire tape with him. Didn't expect this one either but he def gets the benefit of the doubt.
Imo shows a lot of class he's actually looking to highlight rappers more underground than he is. This will be my first full-length Jah-Monte listen prolly a good place to start too

B lister!?
You gotta go back and peep “Infinite Wisdom” and “God Body & Soul”

Akai Solo and Ankhlejohn are b listers? Also, there's no such thing as b listers in the scene man stop tryna spark division. The albums have been great

Bad wording, my b. Jah Monte is a great rapper @putney_swope --I just personally don't love him. My point is that it would be sick to see Navy produce albums for people like woods, Mach, RAP Ferreira, so every time he doesn't, it kinda stings lol
But if you wanna check out Jah, I recommend Too Little Too Late and 75th and Amsterdam Side A

I'm intrigued by the people he is deciding to collaborate with. It is bringing in some much needed diversity in the underground. All the higher profile artists seem to work with the same producers and people.

again my biggest issue with Jah is the reliance on "my b****" lines which get old after awhile...when he eases up on that s*** I really enjoy his production and bars generally

I do appreciate and commend Navy for his insane work ethic, and just being a great collaborator. There’s no doubt he shows out with every single album

Like who?
Mach and Griselda have branched out a ton, Armand Hammer have a wide gamut of producers…. Who do you have in mind

Yeah for real. And rapping about the same thing is obviously fine—it’s just when there’s not one stand out quality, it gets dull fast

I was making reference to the list of mc's you mentioned and the people Navy Blue has done full projects with. The people you mentioned have collaborated with each other at least Navy with Mach as well as Navy with Woods/Armand hammer, Elucid with R.A.P but. Those guys haven't collaborated with the guys Navy Blue has done full projects with.
Overall if we take stock of the more high profile people in the underground they mostly collaborate with each other. I'm excluding Nack and his mini mansion movement as they are somewhat insular.
What's the song he's performing in the 3rd slide?

Unreleased he been preforming that 1 at every show hope we get it. Sounds like a Champagne poetry remix or sum
I hope we can get this on vinyl soon 🙏🏾🙏🏾
navy be gettin them beats OFF

I think Ankh is bigger than Navy. Sage is still relatively new to the underground.
Ankh been around a long time.
But on the flip side, I hope they all keep working with everybody. Don't stick to the same features and producers.

Is there a better video of this?

Not a chance Ankh is bigger than Navy. Just having features on Earl, Alchemist, Mach, Ka and woods albums makes him the bigger name artist in the underground.
And, unless I am mistaken, both have been at it since about 2017.
Navy's sound and voice is more accessible than a lot of these other rappers mentioned, and I can see his popularity heightening over the next couple of years, especially if he continues on this run he's having.

Yup I've been recommending him to friends who don't even listen to rap like that and they often loved it, his potential to reach a wider audience is def massive

Armand Hammer and woods have worked with Akai multiple times, and they’ve both shown a a lot of love to MIKE, someone close to Navy.
I think the reason the bigger names haven’t collabed with people like Ankh, Jah, Wiki isn’t for lack of support—because plenty of them give opportunities to way lesser-known artists— but because their sounds just don’t mesh. It’s not even a sight to them—they’re just in different stratospheres and that’s understandable
And by my count, Mach, Roc, Westside, woods and Elucid have a really varied bag of collaborators
The long and short of my point is that it would be nice if he
Wheres the lord jahmonte tape besides bandcamp
wouldn't be unusual for this scene to drop it as a bandcamp exclusive at first then drop it on streaming a couple weeks later
