Can y'all possible remove Medhane from the OP title? I feel like it's the right thing to do in this situation.

Ehh I wouldn't really say Mavi. It's not like he was outright defending Medhane. And you can see he's very clearly not for him not taking responsibility for his actions. He really only served as the middle man and passed messages between Medhane and the victim. He recognizes that he could've done more in the situation, but he preferred to not further involve himself as he didn't fully know what was going on, the most he did was distanced himself from Medhane and only contacted him when the victim requested him to relay a message.

He hasn't really done anything to warrant being ostracized and you can tell that he's going to get actively involved in making things right to make up for his previous inaction. The only thing you can say he did wrong was bring the situation to the public, but upon doing that he stayed out of it and left it for the victim and Medhane to figure out.

Call Mavi cowardly for his inaction and he'll very likely agree with you, but I don't believe he should be excluded from the group for doing what he felt was the right thing to do as a former victim of sexual assault himself

You can definitely say Mavi failed as a protector in this instance, but it's not like it came from a place to defend an abuser. Moreso to let the victim handle the situation the way they see fit.

But yes going forward, definitely be more critical of and active in holding one of your peers accountable in situations like this instead of leaving them to do the right thing. More often than not they will fail to do so and end up making you look bad.

I guess I was referring to association. It really sounds like "sLUms" or "sLUms collective" needs a rebrand
