Anyone have experience with this process? In short, my former employer still owes me a little over a thousand bucks for skipping a pay period shortly before the company shut down. Dept of Labor has already issued him a citation and stated that he owes me this amount but they also can't force him to pay me by a certain time either so my next step is probably doing small claims court...just wondering if it's even worth it or still not a guarantee I'll ever get the money owed to me...thanks!

if he don't bother paying you it's probably because he figured it wouldn't be worth it for you to sue him

You'll probably end up spending more than you get.

Sue him. You have proof and probably can ask to judge to make him cover court costs and other fees. Do research on how to file a small claim in your area it isn’t hard.

It’s the principle don’t let him think he got that s*** off

Itll cost a small amount to file, depending on what state.

On top of that there will be additional costs.

I'm not sure you'll come out of it with money in your pocket. You may end up spending more than a thousand
