  • Snoop wants veteran rappers to get the same respect and achieve the same longevity as their peers in the rock world. “You got rappers in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” he says. “You ain’t got no motherfukking rock & rollers in the Rap Hall of Fame. So slow it down a little bit, and put some respect on our name. Don’t put no time limit on how old we are, because we don’t look at the rockers and say, ‘Man, he got white hair now.’ We should get that same love in hip-hop.”

Snoop is probably the last person to be saying this he’s loved by literally every demographic in America pretty much

  • Nov 17, 2021

How about you make another Good album and start Rapping like you used to and you would Snoop

  • Nov 17, 2021

    Kanye will change this

  • He’s right tbh. He’s the wrong person to be saying this cause he’s like the top 3 most loved rapper of all time but this is valid.

If Rock started in the early ‘50s, you’re saying no one respected old rockers in the ‘90s unless they “kept up with the times”?

    That’s complete bullshit

This only applies to the biggest and most iconic rockstars though.

There's plenty of rock groups that have been disregarded or downplayed over the years.

The big, iconic rap legends like Snoop himself, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kanye, Jay-Z, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, Outkast, Lil Wayne, Tribe Called Quest, Pharrell, etc. get plenty of love today to different degrees.

Hell, the deaths of MF DOOM and DMX lead to tons of young people streaming their music.

It's not really fair to compare Rakim to ACDC because the latter is one of the best selling music acts of all time while Rakim was a modest selling artist despite his talent and influence.

Yes...rap fans can be fickle and have a tendency to d***ride whatever's hot atm but there's plenty of rap legends who have gotten their flowers and have received many accolades.

rappers literally get more recognition than rockstars lol

  • Nov 17, 2021

snoop doesn’t deserve any recognition after 2 decades of straight trash
