    Not here rn

My girl beat me up twice a day if that counts

    I enjoy it tho

    Salute

I think the internet is the main driver of this gap. I'm not saying women’s experiences aren’t real, or men can't be s***ty, but social media disproportionately shows the worst versions of men and repeats them nonstop.

That turns “some bad experiences” into “this is what men are like,” which is a distortion.

You can see the same process in reverse in male spaces about women.

how many men have you dated? if the answer is none, then you’re just talking out your ass

  • it also doesn’t help that the younger the guy is, the higher the chance it is he’s addicted to manosphere content like Andrew Tate podcasts

  • internet addiction

get off the internet and get into a normal loving relationship and stop worrying about gender wars

    on both sides

  • Stankie

Uhh i would hope everyone at some point has had this lol

I'd say most men haven't tbh. That's why points about "Men's suicide/men's mental health" rings hollow to me in discussions like this. Men don't know how to deal with their emotions and you can't blame women for that

    F*** it let’s pod.

how many men in this thread have had real conversations with yall homeboys? When I say “real” I mean like eyes mighta been around some onions during said conversations

Still feel a lot of guilt/regret about my homeboy opening up to me in our senior year of high school saying his parents are close to getting divorced, his mom is bipolar. I got a bipolar mom too, seen some f***ed up s*** growing up. But even though I'm sure he would've appreciated it, I just couldn't get myself to open up and share some of my experiences

We're still friends to this day but we haven't spoken about it since. He casually mentioned he goes to therapy a few months back so I'm happy he's doing that at least

But yeah, even with male blood relatives like cousins, it's difficult for men to have these conversations. Whether it's societal standards or just in our nature, you can't point the finger at women or moan about life being harder for you because of this if you aren't even comfortable enough expressing yourself to those closest to you

It counts s*** like taking too many ibuprofen as an attempt

Why would that be disqualified as a suicide attempt to you? Just wondering

had a similar experience freshman year of college with a close friend to this day who (whilst coming down from a molly trip) told us some deep dark s*** while we playing nba street vol 2 in my dorm.

We definitely was on some "yo chilllllll" then, we still talk and been more transparent about this stuff in current years but yeah it was tough.

Nitpicking a stat (women have more suicide attempts than men) because you feel overdosing on pills is “not as dramatic” as a self aimed gunshot or hanging reveals you are only participating in said discussion on the basis of bad faith.

I always find it interesting how there’s a permanent double standard specifically for men.

If I brought up a ton of negative examples of people of a race, gender identity, sexual preference, whatever, and used that to extrapolate to the majority of those people, id be rightfully called crazy/racist/whatever.

But people bring up examples of toxic s*** men do, and then say “yep, f*** men”. And that’s somehow not the same.
