It’s not all a grift.. why is it so hard to believe these guys genuinely believe in their position. Doesn’t make it right or wrong.. there’s no grift in trying to win more of the world over to your genuine belief system.. it just makes the world more predictable for you if more people are on the same wave as you.

At the extremes liberalism is so open-ended it presents chaos, and as the world seems to be trending liberal for a long period of time, what’s so hard to understand about people turning towards anything at all that will provide them with what they believe to be a stable and consistent belief system they can count on.

Also I don’t get the “we’re losing the younger men” thing.. men tend to increase in conservatism as they age, no? You become responsible for more and more and you want the exterior world to follow some organizing principle you can be sure of and count on long enough for you take your attention off that and put it to your family and other responsibilities.. idk, this s*** isn’t that complicated, is it?

I think for every movement there's a counterculture movement. Sometimes they're just powerful. But I see it waning nowadays. Once Trump is gone these movements will dissipate.

They’re almost boxed into their personas because they’ve built an enemy of the other side and profit off radicalizing people to their side to varying degrees. Rogan is just a guy with a podcast who has some opinions that lean right. He has a lot of the same hobbies as people on the right and people try to box him in there but he’s even said he’s more left leaning outside a few issues. He’s had people on both sides come to the podcast. He’s not telling people what to think in the way the others are
