I remember being heavily into MySpace in 2006. Discovered Drake in early 2008, not long after Comeback Season had dropped. Back then, he was the #1 unsigned artist in Canada on MySpace. Immediately loved Comeback Season. Discovered he had dropped another tape before that, listened to Room for Improvement, didn't like it as much because of how much better Comeback Season was but I kept bumping Comeback Season.

Some time passes, my home computer crashes. I'm off MySpace for months and so I don't keep in touch with what he has going on and in mid-March, a friend gets me a CD with all the So Far Gone tracks burned into it.

This is the project that made me realize he was different and he'd be here for a long time. Such an incredible first listen experience. I will never forget listening to it and feeling like it was such a breath of fresh air because NOBODY was making songs like this in rap. This mixtape changed the entire landscape of rap music imo. Had more impact than most rap albums that dropped in 2009.
