Think about the psychological traits you must possess to even want to pursue stardom. Now combine those traits with so much money, sex, d**** etc that the person becomes numb to the thrill, ultimately leading to them needing to engage in depraved s*** to get that same high. That, or they’re already using their influence to force themselves on people.
Plus they got a pr/marketing team that will likely bail them out of the worst situations. No accountability required in most situations

May 9, 2024This is my issue and I said it in another thread why is it that something like this looked at like more or less under a microscope (I am not defending pdf in any capacity) but we just brush off people talking about sliding on opps or doin whatever else as just part of it. I know it’s a very complex topic with a lot of layers but I guess my point is it seems like nobody ever has a consistent moral compass and really it seems like the issues are only a problem when they’re brought to the forefront of the public or it’s someone you don’t like or are indifferent if they’re called out for being a POS

Personally, I assume many artists have skeletons in their closets. Even Taylor and Selena dated underaged guys.

I see your point but the music was bad positive messages are not the issue it's the way they are constructed and attempted to be sold.

I also think that while there's no justification for being a weirdo and what not, people viewing celebrity lives through an average person's lenses is faulty at best, and ridiculous at worst

No I agree his is not a great example but I think to be fair a lot of people clowned him for the fact that his message was so radically different than Acid Rap they found it off putting

It feels inauthentic humans typically don't have such radical shifts in message and priorities. Usually you can see growth over time. Chance just switched up. Same with this Drake changed fake mafioso thing. Untrue always stood on im not the guy but the guys around me are. People see it as inauthentic due to his initial soft r&b perception juxtaposed with he prior vision of a rapper.

To understand why rappers don't like drake, is to understand who rappers are at their core. Rappers feel like they're the best, and the only thing that's holding them back are opportunities. They do not really f*** with anyone getting ahead of them, especially some half white Canadian who was a child actor. Drake knew / knows this, which is why he overcompensates by showing soooo much love to places like Houston, and Atlanta but everything from day 1 was always transactional. He was never friends with them, they were never friends him, and they were using each other.

Agree to a certain extend. What you describe is def what happens but we can’t chalk all these situations up to just that. There’s people he’s been dealing with for years that he def built personal relationships with, even if their initial intentions where to use each other for whatever purposes. To have them all coming out at kind of the same time to turn his back on him alludes to some deeper BS than just that. Or at least I would think so
But it’s probably not tea that even matters if I’d hear all the ins and outs. Nor do I really care to hear it at the end of the day if it isn’t music
