I am happy that I was unemployed when this happened.
I was negotiating a loan with my bank before my country locked down, I have a feeling it will be hard to get the loan when they open up.
In June I am supposed to return to school and finish my exams and then hit the welfare system, but if my school is closed in June I will be f***ed economical, because then I will not be able to apply for welfare.

I’m considered essential personnel, so I won’t lose my job and my family fortunately doesn’t have to worry about finances too much, but I think this pandemic exposed a lot of s*** that has been ignored by the general public for a long time.

We can’t have a class-based healthcare system anymore where treatment is dictated by how much money a person has. Everyone is now starting to understand the importance of workers rights and the need for elements of socialism in order to have a more dignified country. And I think it’s clear that intelligence in leadership does matter. We can’t elect people based personality and their ability to s*** talk. It takes knowledge and the ability to process facts to handle a pandemic like this and clearly we don’t have that at the highest level in the US. Middle American is learning a lesson.

Only guarantee is that world will be a different place after this is all over. Whether it’s better or worse is up to us. Will we learn from it or fall flat on our faces because of our own ignorance?

I know a lot of people that criticized the poor for taking government handouts that are now jobless, trying to navigate through unemployment, and are begging for their Trump checks to show up. It’s easy to only see things and judge the world from your own perspective, but your position could change in an instant and you suddenly end up walking in shoes you’d never thought you’d be in. Empathy prevents pain.
