Google a***ytics(pixel) is one bucket, but these reps and scouts are out mining all these forums and also discord, clubhouse triller, Reddit etc to get metadata about upcoming artists who get good engagement. Obviously probably not a huge secret but feel like it goes against what this forum was all originally made for IMO
