I’ve soured on euphoria, ultimately pretty meh - lots of just plain sloppy writing. Push Ups is maybe 10% sharper? euphoria has the better delivery/flows but some of his delivery was later-period-Eminem worthy 😕 (don’t dumb it down so much for the listeners, this isn’t an actual battle; crowd noise is not gonna stop us from catching the “let me…. park-his-son” punchline)

they both can’t help themselves falling back into lazy comfort zones

Drake has to do some corny strained attempts at virality with hiring drumlines and wedging his mom into it, you can feel every line is straining to be “is that your world tour or your girl’s tour”, he’s got to overplay his omnipresence; the AI s*** is over-doing what’s already overdone and it’s intensely, unprecedentedly weird

Kendrick has to have some reversed dialogue pseudo-conceptual BS to round out his attempt at another DNA/Family Ties, but it’s all very familiar fodder he’s using; assumedly to hold back for further disses. So we get all the stuff you’d expect - Drake’s not black, he’s gay on the down low, remember the Pusha T stuff? And the ghostwriter stuff? - but it rings a little hollow when he’s hedging his bets so hard. Both can do better

Idk why niggas can’t be in their Hood Politics/Dedication vs 8AM/4PM type of timing

  • May 11, 2024

So much of Euphoria was a warning and a prelude to Grahams & Not Like Us

Kendrick really pulled a Drake on Drake & the boy couldnt handle it

Literally became Meek in this situation, except he has Instagram fingers
