I think it is a testament to the rap game being hypocritical about creation of songs. Media personalities still live in the fairy tale world that rappers write all their own stuff.

To me its funny how we have prominent cases of big artists using writers like Drake, Dre, Ye, Travis etc but we still call having writers an exception.

I just think that exceptions are kinda the norm nowadays. Like where do we draw the line? Hooks being written by others is accepted and artists having A&R or others in the studio helping with certain lines is also accepted.

The Cole x Yachty convo made one thing clear to me. The choice of making a better song instead of staying true to a code is the real divide between generations of rap.

Real Gone Come Out & Bad Mon both have Quentin Miller hooks on earlier versions of both songs. On later versions Quentin Miller is gone and you can clearly hear Pusha T rapping QM lyrics. There is no for it to exist argument, we're f***ing hearing it.
