This is the first time I've seen the reaction to the whole demon/occult s*** in a video being met with exhaustion and general ambivalence. It seems like most people are over it at this point because it's so vapid and meaningless and only meant to shock and nothing else.

In the case of Doja Cat, people are calling it corny cause she's doing all this and her raps are being viewed as elementary/childish and the beat like some video game s*** lol

I’m assuming he can’t. But who cares? It’s not like she blew up as a rapper because hip hop was in such need of a rapper who can dance or choreograph lol She wasn’t relevant until she threw ona cow suit.

Idc about whatever blog placements she had she wasn’t known like that especially in hip hop. There are plenty multidimensional talented artist in hip hop, she’s not an anomaly. Why throw Future or Thug under the bus to make your point?

need doja to get back to this

you just said she wasn’t relevant pre-Moo, she literally got picked up by a label and had songs with millions of plays and views on SoundCloud/YouTube alike, she wasn’t an overnight sensation chief

sounds like to me you just have a weird axe to grind

and because Thug and Future aren’t even as half as talented as Doja as a complete package objectively speaking, just because you get warm and fuzzy feelings when you throw on DS2 or hear Thug squawking in your ear doesn’t change that fact at all lmao

and also no, there hasn’t been someone as complete as Doja in modern hip hop (particularly mainstream wise) for quite awhile, so idek why you tried to sneak that in

    panocha princess

i understand the concept choice but this is one of those songs by her where its super boring (ex: bottom b****) major try hard vibes

??? bottom b**** is top tier Doja

  • Aug 10, 2023

Imagine thinking Doja Cat better than Future and Thug lol

She a popstar hip hop will not remember her for the dance and choreography the music industry will tho because she a big name in pop music but thats not hip hop now is it

I don’t remember her being much relevant before that song but you are a fan so you got it. I remember being out on to her in 2018 and she wasn’t that big

But you kinda right, I don’t have an axe to grind I juat don’t like her music, specifically her fader mag core rap music keep that s***

I don’t really care about if she can dance or choreograph when it comes to the hip hop space, that s*** is irrelevant. And doesn’t make her better than those two artist you mentioned imo. So I didn’t really get why you mentioned that as if that’s a one up on those artists. It’s like niggas sayin Chris Brown is more talented than Micheal Jackson because he can play basketball.

Now if you wanna compare her to pop acts then you can do that

the funny thing is that she insulted the s*** out of her fanbase for liking the pop s*** and still continued to make the same music.

I understand not being proud of music you made if it's under contractual obligation to a label. I also understand that she's signed to Dr Luke, someone who clearly has a history of sexual abuse towards women. Wanting to separate from that image is understandable.

Weird to take it out on your fans though.

Anybody remember a certain tweet she put out saying she wanted to be a music industry pig s***

I probably said it wrong but it had those keywords she was on some troll s*** but looking back was she really trollin?

yeah, so basically like most of the people that have been quoting me in this thread

being “””better””” is subjective, im talking about from an artistic standpoint, the lady can sing, rap, produce, choreograph, is a phenomenal performer, and can s*** out hits literally whenever she feels like it

she’s even blended genres all over Planet Her, she doesn’t get any credit for any of this s*** because y’all got some weird hatred towards her, which is fine i guess, but it doesn’t have any bearing on her actual musicianship and what she has to offer as an artist—the Chris Brown example doesn’t even work because it’s completely unrelated to music lol

i just find it hilarious that Doja is receiving all this s*** for attempting to branch out from what she typically makes, while Thug and Future have been creatively stagnant for 5+ years and haven’t made anything worth a damn since essentially mid 2010s, y’all eat up anything they put out because you stan them while s***ting on artists who actually try to do new s***

I used the Chris Brown example because the debate I saw wasn’t about whether he was more talented musically it was just in general. Doja being able to do those things is dope but we don’t care about if she can dance or choreograph when it comes to hip hop. J-Lo did allat 20 years ago lol. I’m here for the joints, and she ain’t got better projects than Future or thug. But like you said it’s subjective you got it.

She can branch out all she wants that’s cool but if people don’t like the music (I won’t say it isn’t “good”) why should we give credit because of her attempt? If you experiment and it’s trash it’s just experimental trash.

I agree those two artist haven’t pivoted from their typical sound much in recent years (future more so than thug) but it works, they’ve still dropped albums wit joints. And they have more than enough cache with the music they’ve dropped before. I’m not listening to those two artist expecting them to derive from what their bread and butter anyway.

well whoever was making that argument for chris brown wasn’t thinking very hard lmao

and okay that’s cool, i care lmao, so idk what to tell you, we can go back and forth about who has better albums over here all day and we won’t get anywhere, because quite frankly i think Thug and Future make absolutely bottom of the barrel stuff, it’s largely terrible outside of a handful of songs, likewise you don’t like Doja’s music which is why im stepping away from talking about the music, and looking at what each can do away from my enjoyment of it

i also don’t mean to say a hip hop artist needs to be able to do the aforementioned things i credited to Doja to be considered a “good” artist, but if i don’t like the music i could at least admire their ability to do other things, which they pretty much don’t, only thing i can credit Future and Thug with is that they’re both influential

as far as im concerned, Doja has a lot more to offer

you don’t have to hand Doja any brownie points for experimenting with music, my point is that the hate is largely driven out of her wanting to step outside of her pop sound, it doesn’t sit well with me that people are doing that while stanning derivative and generic music, let alone less talented artists

Fair enough, I wasn’t aware that the hate she was getting was from her going away from her pop sound. The singles I’ve heard seemed pretty on brand. Outside of I guess her rap style. I saw more hate for her antics and her visuals. I see what you are saying.
