This is the first time I've seen the reaction to the whole demon/occult s*** in a video being met with exhaustion and general ambivalence. It seems like most people are over it at this point because it's so vapid and meaningless and only meant to shock and nothing else.

being “””better””” is subjective, im talking about from an artistic standpoint, the lady can sing, rap, produce, choreograph, is a phenomenal performer, and can s*** out hits literally whenever she feels like it

she’s even blended genres all over Planet Her, she doesn’t get any credit for any of this s*** because y’all got some weird hatred towards her, which is fine i guess, but it doesn’t have any bearing on her actual musicianship and what she has to offer as an artist—the Chris Brown example doesn’t even work because it’s completely unrelated to music lol

i just find it hilarious that Doja is receiving all this s*** for attempting to branch out from what she typically makes, while Thug and Future have been creatively stagnant for 5+ years and haven’t made anything worth a damn since essentially mid 2010s, y’all eat up anything they put out because you stan them while s***ting on artists who actually try to do new s***

She can branch out all she wants that’s cool but if people don’t like the music (I won’t say it isn’t “good”) why should we give credit because of her attempt? If you experiment and it’s trash it’s just experimental trash.

I agree those two artist haven’t pivoted from their typical sound much in recent years (future more so than thug) but it works, they’ve still dropped albums wit joints. And they have more than enough cache with the music they’ve dropped before. I’m not listening to those two artist expecting them to derive from what their bread and butter anyway.

and okay that’s cool, i care lmao, so idk what to tell you, we can go back and forth about who has better albums over here all day and we won’t get anywhere, because quite frankly i think Thug and Future make absolutely bottom of the barrel stuff, it’s largely terrible outside of a handful of songs, likewise you don’t like Doja’s music which is why im stepping away from talking about the music, and looking at what each can do away from my enjoyment of it

i also don’t mean to say a hip hop artist needs to be able to do the aforementioned things i credited to Doja to be considered a “good” artist, but if i don’t like the music i could at least admire their ability to do other things, which they pretty much don’t, only thing i can credit Future and Thug with is that they’re both influential

as far as im concerned, Doja has a lot more to offer

you don’t have to hand Doja any brownie points for experimenting with music, my point is that the hate is largely driven out of her wanting to step outside of her pop sound, it doesn’t sit well with me that people are doing that while stanning derivative and generic music, let alone less talented artists
