I think Alfredo and Pray 4 Paris are AOTY contenders but I also recognize EA did insane numbers so theres no way I could just exclude.it from.the convo cause its "not real Hip Hop"

I ain't against mainstream music. EA and Savage Mode 2 are some of my fav releases oty. I am literally named after a mainstream rapper lmao.
if anything, I am usually critical of the "internet rappers" like Ka or MIKE because I don't think just rapping over unorthodox beats makes you interesting as an artist. But Blu & Exile genuinely created a very heartfelt and beautiful work. Freddie and Alchemist created some god level music as well.
