People like baby, gunna and uzi have very limited rap skills, they make pop music for children who like the rap aesthetic
Bro, those are f***ing terrible
Shut the f*** up hoe ass nigga
You actually think they’re good? Are they the only freestyles you’ve ever heard? On the second vid dude has zero mic presence or charisma

You understand mic presence doesn’t mean he needs to get up on the table right? And I sound stupid

Pop music that's rap inspired is Post Malone and Blackbear. one of my least favourite rappers is Hopsin but he isn't pop just because i don't like him. Baby is still rap music he just has a melodic edge to him

Hopsin isn’t pop rap he’s just a cornball

Confidence on the mic, being assertive with his voice, sounding like he belongs there, he sounds like a scared kid on work experience

What i'm saying is that this point would make sense if it was Post Malone who has no songs where he raps. Baby isn't a technically great rapper but he still has the rap edge to him and he can go off lyrically. i doubt Bubblegum pop rap has lyrics about growing up in the hood and the struggles of surviving, that would just be melodic street rap

Bubblegum rap is just rap that capitalises one the current trend... right now that’s 808’s autotune and extremely dumbed down lyrics, at least that’s how I see it and he defiantly ticks all the boxes

It's just typical trap music with Autotune, Trap music has never been a super advanced lyrical genre. there's different types of rap for different audiences and mood. Lyrical Hip Hop i listen to more when i'm in a mood for bars and storytelling, but when i'm in a party i would put on these trap artists because it's more hype and fits the moment perfectly. There's a reason why In Da Club by 50 Cent was the biggest hit of the album, Parties dictate what songs become extremely popular.

In the club I wouldn’t class as bubblegum rap, but candy shop I would. But I get your point
