  • a new reference track for kanyes new music leaks damn near every few weeks. what's even the point of getting excited for a kanye album these days when he's not behind 99% of the music

don't give me that "he's always collaborated" bs either. even when he did get help on tracks, he was at least hands on and doing some writing of his own. he doesn't even show up to the studio anymore. nigga just pays for studio time and lets random F-tier soundcloud rappers write entire albums for him. i thought TLOP would be the worst in that aspect but it's only gotten worse as time goes on

ye initially markeded himself as a producer who was also good at rapping. he does neither of those things now. I personally refuse to get hyped for another project unless he's the leading mind behind them. how do y'all feel?

he literally said on Kimmel that he tells interns what to do and goes to sleep. That was his Ye sessions. Kinda sad what happened.

Rn I just rather him focus on his projects like the gap and visit music when he feels the need to

As long as the product is good, the process doesn’t seem so important. At the end of the day, it’s for the art. Whatever has to be done for the art. Whatever money, whatever talent, whatever ego, it all has to be brought forth in pursuit of the vision.

    Well don’t get hype then.

  • ye is a good album but when you consider just how many great artists worked on that album (Drake, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Chance, CyHi, Pusha, Cudi, 070 Shake, Dream, PND, etc)...it's definitely underwhelming

Follow the art not the person

  • Mar 5, 2021

Mans got billis plural in the bank and you expect him to still be hungry to make music. I want the great music and the passion to do so from him still too, but it’s not realistic

He's basically a movie director at this point. Think about it. Movie directors don't (always) write the script, they don't do the casting, they don't do the acting, etc. BUT, the movie in the end is a reflection of their vision. Same with Kanye.

At the end of the day Kanye controls the thematics and sonics of the album, which are way more important than the lyrics. Do I wish he still wrote his s***? Yes, but I no longer expect 10/10 music from him. At this point I'm more interested in the sound that he's going for, as opposed to what he's actually trying to say

I mean his vision is a religious album lol, nobody in history has ever has ever figured out how to make a fire hip hop - religious album. Hoping he does tho for this next project whenever it comes out

How the f*** do you believe in that narrative?

He has more people working on the albums, more help, more talent, but he produces is.

Kanye is the biggest workaholic among artists
