For the record, I am a liberal, part of the media brainwashing I'm referring to is that many liberals think that to criticize their own side is to be a conservative like there's no grey area or nuance. That is part of the problem, you are allowed as a liberal to have opinions that go against the mainstream depiction of liberalism. Remember, there were things that were "liberal" in the past that we now shun republicans for believing in. You have to think outside the box and deprogram yourself from media-influenced opinions, your own opinion formed with your own thoughts and experiences is just as valid as any other. Dare to be different, even if you are shunned for it. Some day the unpopular thing you believe now, may be be the mainstream opinion tomorrow. I have alot of problems with this and it's the primary reason Twitter is a cesspool, virtue signaling and cancel culture gone haywire with everybody asserting that they are the most moral and ethical and ostracing anybody who has made a mistake or because they don't agree with the hive mind.
