Shower me in benefits I'm finally ready to pledge to sobriety. It's gonna be hard but I'm ready. I've made a move back to my hometown that has helped my mental health greatly. I feel so much better, only time I feel down now is when I drink and smoke, lol. I finally feel like a functioning member of society and not a sloth out of his cave whenever I'm outside. It's a great feeling. I finally have a car too, haven't had one in four years which didn't help my cave mentality lol. I've only never wanted to commit to sobriety because my depression wouldn't let me
I'm ready to cop a membership to the gym and change my habits. What kind of benefits (physically and mentally) have you guys seen when starting your sobriety?
I won't lie, smoking tobacco is gonna be the hardest. Driving and smoking is the best feeling ever, just the lingering smell on my fingertips and on the taste of my breathe when I get to my destination is what I hate the most.
Thread did days I went without drinking numbers
Let’s go thru it together. Declaring sobriety as well.

Tired of getting ghosted because she found someone better?

Im wit it. Drinking is always easy for me to ease up on so smoking is gonna be my trouble. gonna have to research how effective those nicotine joints are
Upsides:
-energy
-less likely to be manipulated by snakes, you're more 'aware' of what's going on
-can be more spontaneous in life, in a positive way
-can actually follow through on goals
-better decision making overall
-generally feel more spiritual
Downsides:
-you start seeing the truths of the world (and your family) which can be pretty dark
-you start seeing exactly how much you've held yourself back over the years
-you kinda look like a weirdo to your friends depending on who they are

2+ years sober now. Lost everything and was living in my car for the longest time cause of alcoholism and amphetamines. If you read my old kanyetothe posts you'll see how over time the quality just gets worse and worse and I start to lash out at people
