What was better about it to you?

i kinda agree.

can’t say for sure because i’ve only had one full listen as opposed to my tons of plays on her previous one, but right now i’m thinking there just aren’t as many memorable songs. i don’t even think it’s the songwriting this time around, some of these songs are just too long. there is no song shorter than 4 minutes until you get to the last two tracks, which makes a lot of that 40 min. stretch blend together and not in a good way.

i have no problem with her long songs, but sequencing the album like this makes it so tedious to listen in full.

idk i dont agree personally, i think that this album sounds so much more lush and beautiful by comparison. its also got this super nostalgic 90s vibe that i think she pulls off well. i love how fleshed out the songs are and i can see them sticking with me for a while (especially circle the drain which ive had on repeat since it came out)

feel like i'm in the minority thinking this is much better than clean, subject matter hits harder on here for me personally

i want to like this one better just cuz of the aesthetic lmao i’ll need a few more plays to know how i truly feel about the music and lyrics tho. what would you say is so different about the subject matter on here?

I listened to Clean again after listening to this like twice and I think they're about equal but I really like the evolution of her sound here...so many gorgeous songs...circle the drain is such a great song

yea circle the drain is a highlight for me for sure.
whole thing so cohesive to me.

yeah i listened again and i def prefer Clean. it’s not a perfect album, but it drags so much less than this one.

felt the exact same way about it, album is dragging too much, I might have to give it another spin but doubt that my overall opinion will change

circle the drain is absolutely amazing tho, that 90s sitcom theme vibe

really wanted to love it but i guess i’ll have to settle for just liking it “Circle the Drain”, “Royal Screw Up”, “Night Swimming”, and “Gray Light” are f***ing awesome songs tho

yea, it's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, some great moments throughout, also love the final third of yellow is the color of her eyes, song woulda benefited immensely if it was cut shorter
