  • Social features in the Fitbit app will be unavailable for the next few weeks.

The Fitbit app is becoming the Google Health app, and it will be redesigned and rebranded to align with the next step in our evolution. From an improved sleep algorithm to a personalised health coach in Google Health Premium, the new experience can help you easily track your progress towards your sleep, fitness, and health goals.

As part of this transition, we are updating the social experience. To make sure everything goes smoothly, we are pausing social experiences in the Fitbit app for a few weeks. Starting today, you will not be able to send messages, view leaderboards or add or remove friends.

You will get access to the Google Health app through your usual app updates over the next few weeks. Once you’re in the Google Health app, you will have access to a new social experience with more leaderboard options. If you still log in with a Fitbit account, you will need to add your friends again in the Google Health app.
