    My unbiased take in all of this is that Abel was able (lol) to sniff out how transactional OVO/Drake viewed their relationship with XO/The Weeknd.

    They were both extremely vocal about how XO was planning on doing their own thing from the get go, yet Drake STILL dangles the “20%” thing, and “you won’t get away with just a thank you” etc.

    I think Abel saw through all of that and wanted to keep his distance so Drake wasn’t able to say “I made your whole career”

    I’d love to talk about this with someone with a level head lol lotta thoughts on this

    This is a fair take and Drake has definitely been more public in his claims/issues with Abel but I think they both had a massive influence in the other’s career at the perfect time(which is what I care about). I think that probably bothers both of them to some degree lol

    Me too man. I’ve given up on a real reconciliation and collaboration but I’d at least like to know what happened. At the end of the day Abel made the right move for him and even if Drake feels a way about that I feel like he could certainly understand that in retrospect. Now it’s evolved into this whole Toronto gang s*** and I’m like alright yall light skinned dudes just need to play nice atp
