lmfaooo Im not kemalist but you wish your country had an Atatürk. Man literally gave us our independence, did all kind of revolutions in every system, gave women the right to vote way before many western countries and did all those while the whole world was against us. i actually agree with you that some people blindly follow him and go too far but man was actually a genius leader and was our savior. He did some bad s*** too but what he has done is still unbelievable. Greatest leader of all time.

No other mf literally saved a country. Started a war himself for our freedom, organized it, won the war against european powerhouses, created it back again, did cultural, economical and social revolutions and did all this in a middle eastern country. This man was a genius soldier genius leader genius person genius economsist... I dont wanna d***ride him fr my some friends think i hate him and yes our country is sensitive about him but thats really for a reason because when i start to talk about him i just see how amazing everything he did is.

i mean, there are a lot of other countries w successful founding father type figures who incorporated ideological agendas into their socioeconomic and political victories. Lee Kuan Yew for example is probably the most notable. if you want to say only military involved people count then Ho Chi Minh. I mean hell even in europe proper you could say Hoxha

Hoxha is not that type of figure for most Albanians. Gjergj Kastrioti probably fits that role much more.

yeah i realize hoxha's religious suppression (which ultimately lead to the tension that destroyed the country post-death) destroyed much of his domestic legacy except for very old albanians. however i meant it more from the "ideological and socioeconomic success" angle; hoxha's reconstruction & modernization of post-war albania is probably one of the best modernizations in all of history

edit: he's also kind of responsible for the insane illyrian ethnonationalism which is still alive in a lot of albania (ironically more w diaspora albanians)

I can understand that you think we are brainwashed too and i honestly kinda agree cuz some of are people really see him like a prophet but its really kinda justified too. Man didnt just save the country and saw the close future he even wrote about that people were going to use islam as a tool to destroy our indepence and that s*** still happening today. Its just sad our people couldnt prevent it. Man was really a genius with good intentions. And I am far from a nationalist so i think i am being objective about this.

anarchists think imperialism is just when a state does things so they think they can just throw the term out. so naturally they think it’s a pointless word because they have zero understanding of it whatsoever

@mythic_ wasn’t even arguing from an anarchist perspective so idk where you got that from

i wish you a merry christmas bro but at least engage with the mentioned theory before saying some dumbass s*** like this, theres lots of different anarchist perspectives on anti-imperialism

my personal favorite is anarchism and the national liberation struggle by alfredo bonnano

Substituting precise categories for vague platitudes like “tyranny” is a very anarchist thing tho. It’s connected to the anarchist idea of identifying the primary contradiction as “repression” as opposed to exploitation

I don’t know that guy so wouldn’t have known he’s not an anarchist but those type of lines are absolutely a very common thing amongst American anarchists.

I’ll read that tho, it sounds interesting. There’s anarchists I genuinely really appreciate and I’ve always worked closely with local anarchists because them and the Maoists here have similar understandings of the need for militancy as opposed to the majority of “leftists” here so we share short term goals a lot of the time. But there’s also a lot of smooth brain anarchists here too that seriously repeat that type of nonsense I’m talking about. I know not all anarchists are on that type of time I was describing above but it’s definitely as significant trend amongst them
