I've seen zizek refer to himself as a hegelian a few times but he's never outright claimed to be a socialist right?
He’s a total socialist
Any leftist readings on Pol Pot anybody would recommend?
I read some of this not too long ago bannedthought.net/International/RIM/AWTW/1999-25/PolPot_eng25.htm

Can’t recommend this text enough
In addition to an excellent critical look at Kampuchea specifically - that avoids and criticizes the typical lines of argument made around the issue - it has valuable general insights into the class dynamics of socialism and how a failure to properly grasp these issues can result in the most devastating forms of revisionism

he’s nothing more than a left liberal, he was in the liberal party of Slovenia for example lol
How do you guys feel about FD ? He's quickly becoming the face of leftists on YouTube
watching his content rn and I love it as a black commie/sociologist student.
Marx was inspired by and flipped Hegel ideology, what if Hegel was right
Then Napoleon was the greatest leader known to man (obv untrue)
Marx respected Hegel so much he criticized him and disagreed with him at times which has furthered Hegelian thought

theres a part that compares Hegel's and the crew's dialectics in this article and I remember reading sum more on that

pretty simplistic view of hegel influence on Marx based off one quote in the preface of capital while his influence on Marx is much more complicated and intriguing.
Also have u read Hegel? What would he be right about that Marx isn’t they don’t even really talk about the same topics other than philosophy of history and Hegel did touch political economy but not as much as Marx has
I'm new here and I'm a Marxist-Leninist
What's good
thread is dead join the discord

where did the notion that Gramsci advocated for a passive revolution come from? it’s like saying Marx was a capitalist cause he wrote about capital

Academics and rightists love to b******ize Gramsci. They get that idea from his concept of war of position, saying that this was him advocating for revolution to take place via various cultural wins within existing institutions. Which of course requires an extremely bad faith reading of Gramsci to come to that conclusion
