I'm sorry (and I don't mean to be ableist) but why are internet leftists so weird and anti radical action?

I see both anti-action and larping tendencies. The answer is that this is all first world internet s*** with no basis in the real world.

Its kinda funny that Teddy Roosevelt was basically the Belle epoque equivalent of those upper class crackers constantly posting about RETVRNing to tradition and larping rustic masculinity. There's no way somebody like him could be elected now tho

The fact that the state in liberal democracy is dominated by capital is obvious to anyone with a working brain, but I feel like the observation is taken for granted to the point where I'm struggling to find a rigorous a***ysis of this process. It goes beyond lobbying and campaign financing. Why do politicians answer to capital first and foremost?

The masses answer to capital as well, through the expression of stratified power that is formed through labor exploitation and social alienation

In essence, corporations source their power from the working class through capitalist means, and express it in things like media and social manipulation

These expressions gain the support of the masses, who are effectively the final arbiter of many corporate deeds. If politicians don’t play into the cycle of self-indulgence in the upper class and decide to be righteous, they are thrown to the wolves

Simultaneously, corporate power expressed in collusion and collaboration has created a landscape in the halls of power that basically kills any sort of sympathy for mass movements before it is born

Without the formation of a second power structure that is labor based and directly oppositional to the capital-based power structure emanating from NY/DC, there is little for politicians to fall back on

Internet discussions are irrelevant I agree but the point is that if you claim to be a marxist then you should be dedicated to praxis. Not intellectual grandstanding

In 1957, Mao attended a world conference of communist parties in Moscow celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Russian revolution. He told the delegates that they should not fear nuclear war.

“In the worst case, half the people would die, but the other half would survive, and … imperialism would be wiped off the face of the earth, and the whole world would become socialist,” Mao said.

An Italian communist asked how many Italians would survive.

“None at all,” Mao replied. “But why do you think Italians are so important to humanity?”

Somewhat related but whenever I see numbers for lobbying/campaign donations/gifts I'm always a bit surprised at the scale

Like y'all really selling out your values (if they ever existed) for 5-6 figures? Idk if these mfs are just that easily bought or if that's just the figures that're publicly available

I guess that's a lot of money tho. There's also the whole revolving door thing, they legislate on behalf of a company so they're guaranteed a job with them after retiring.

most soviet intelligence efforts were counterrterrorist and counter-espionage in general, since a vast majority of the GPW was fought on soviet or former-allied soil

suppression of anti-soviet counter-partisons and fighting off german espionage efforts through SWERSH was the meat of intelligence efforts

i think thats a good idea of what they did so you can dive into more discreet subjects
