    Because Taiwan is China

You’re for forcefully taking back land that has been independent for over 100 years?

    Taiwan is not independent

No country in the world is independent, but Taiwan has been it’s own entity (separate of China) for a while

You think it’s okay to forcefully overtake a country when 90% of its population is against reunification?

Yall support China threatening to take Taiwan?

"Taiwan" is a Han settler-colony, it is quite literally an occupied West Bank in the middle of the Pacific with a similar system of racial apartheid against the indigenous population. this is like asking if I support palestinians taking back land from the zionists, support for decolonization is unconditional. doesnt mean we should fight another world war over it but in principle you should oppose settler colonialism.

If anything the US is the one pining for the invasion seems really odd that we consider tying your political and economic interests to a nation halfway across the world the less “encroached” and less “colonial” condition in the modern day

Same thing happened with Hong Kong

S*** is just another normal Chinese city now. Nobody really cares enough because they realized it’s not that crazy being Chinese. Only reason anyone considered them special is because the British colonized them for a century. Why is that a history people wanted to uphold and defend. It wasn’t even better off because of that

    Are you an idiot?

Chinese foreign policy is fundamentally predicated on soft power and peaceful economic pressure, quite literally the opposite of the US, whose economy has been propped up by the barrel of a gun for a century.

This has been made abundantly clear by American and British foreign policy narratives that clearly spin china as a military threat because they pose an economic threat

People prefer stable and prosperous economies over paper-thin economic platitudes

Freedom of what? Where are all the screams and cries from Hong Kong? What happened to the two million people? Why does nobody in that city give a f*** anymore? Are they being brutally oppressed and beaten and surveillance? Or was the thin veneer of s***ty propaganda that you’re parroting lifted?
