its an american/british thing for the most part, trotskyism was mainly an excuse for entryism into Labour.

the american appeal is slightly different tho since 90% of trotskyist parties are just s***tier versions of the DSA. SEP is the only real exception.

of course their are places in the world where trotskyism has a real history due to historical happenstance (sri lanka, argentina, etc.) but that's pretty uncommon.
