My best friend literally grew up in Cuba. Go out and meet real people. Meet people who've lived under socialism. I promise you that 90% or more of them will say that socialism doesn't work. Stop living in a fantasy world. This is a real world and extreme positions aren't something "cool" or "trendy."

yeah a friend of a friend of mine grew up in cuba as well and was vocally against the regime there

someone asked him about his family and his grandpa worked with the CIA

like 90% of the cuban ex pats who hate on that regime are the descendants of former landowners who got driven out or people in their vicinity

Edit - i mean he was from cuba he didnt grow up there

my guy the point is that a lot of ppl who come to america hating on cuba are only saying that because their families were in positions of power that they subsequently lost

or working with the people in those positions of power

like no s*** if you were a wealthy landowner you're not exactly gonna love socialism

hmm so someone from an upper class hating on socialism especially Cuban immigrants who tend to be the most reactionary of the bunch to ur original post it isn't black and white lol I've met immigrants from former socialist countries who missed the old soviet regime and people who hated it, no one here is utopian lol.

As of 2019 there were 1,359,990 Cubans in the USA. The population of Cuba is 11.33 million (2019). So you are telling me that the ~8% of the Cuban population that has immigrated to the US are all descendants of wealthy landowners? Seems highly unlikely to me.

yeah im not saying cuba is all ice cream and gum drops im just saying they've done some markedly good things

and you arent gonna get an objective acknowledgement of that from people whos material interests are undercut by those good things

ok you want to send me your poll of those 1 million cuban imigrants showing an unequivocal disavowal of the regime or smthing ...

also interviewing people who left the country is obviously going to skew your results a little lol, selection bias is a thing

Socialism doesn't work and if you think it does you are so f***ing white. Also, you've never experienced socialism or known anyone who has lived under it.

lol tell this to literally every single revolutionary country
none of them were white and all of them occured in semifuedal or fuedal non developed countries mostly escaping from colonialism
    such an ahistorical post
literal indians, afghans, pinoys fighting a peoples war rn

f*** out of this thread, if you want to learn then ask questions instead of posting some ahistorical trash and s***posting

Well, it's kind of obvious that those 1 million Cuban immigrants disavow the regime since they MOVED AWAY from Cuba. If they loved Cuba, they would certainly lived there instead of moving away, wouldn't they? I'm just saying that 8% of immigrants can't all be descendants of wealthy landowners.

cuba has the most doctors per capita
    lung cancer vaccine
    covid vaccine
diversified their economy and is no longer reliant on monoculture instituted from spanish colonialization
ended homelessness with a gdp 100x less than the US

    "doesnt work"

none of this would even happen in a capitalist neo-colonial country so many countries still haven't given up on their exploitative economies set up by colonists a hundred years ago .. because they cannot.

This logic doesn't apply because it's the converse, not the contrapositive. It can even be proved empirically that a large number of Cubans who live in Cuba do not support the government since there were tons of protests recently.

the counter protest in Cuba were bigger than the actual protest.
where are u getting all ur info from the US media? where they used pictures of people in the counter protest and lied about them being protesters

there was a large (thousands) counterprotest against those protests
cnn + fox used that as footage
those protests were probs legitimate but only a few hundred strong
also keep in mind the thousands of astroturfing posts on twitter..
smells fishy, like something like a US orchestrated/ opportunistic actions

yeah the og protest had legitimate concerns before it got hijacked about vague notions of freedom. do u know what the cuban government did in response to the OG concerns I cant really find any sources .

    how?

we're not saying Cuba is perfect lmfao you're literally the one holding views which are so cemented into "Cuba bad".. the worst thing is that the views ARENT EVEN YOUR OWN, they are a product of American education and propaganda

you have done no critical a***ysis about Cuba or any socialist countries, you haven't read a single book about anything; and I could tell just from that dumbass sentence you said in the beginning - "socialism is a white persons ideology"
