Also bureaucratization hardly existed in maos china due to the principles of the Mass Line. Marxism-Leninism is a dialectical-material and builds upon itself to become more successful
i would have to learn more about mao to argue/concede to your point
If even the CIA explicitly wouldn’t describe the Stalinist USSR as a dictatorship, then why the f*** would another socialist call it a dictatorship

Fanshen by Hinton, documentary of revolution in a Chinese village
Rethinking Socialist Transition by Deng-Yuan Hsu & Pao-yu Ching (probably the most relevant, talks about ownership in mao and present China)
From victory to defeat by Pai Yu Ching

I'm glad they're around and as powerful as they are still tbh. One of the old school communist revolutions is still prospering today, pretty remarkable.
I don't believe in AES but I do think China has.a pretty solid social democratic structure and is way more self-reliant than the globalized western nations

It's really weird because the only reason people treat China's rise to power as a surprise is because we won't take in the facts of the situation. In reality, they'd held an uncontested hegemony over the Far East for like 6000 years, only broken by the Mongols and colonialism.
It'll be wild to see how the US and EU react to the Indian subcontinent and China re-assuming their traditional places as the world's most powerful nations within the century
