Who are your favorite female black Socialist authors?
They're mostly communists and half of them didn't really do much writing outside of news articles of thesis papers.
But obviously Claudia Jones, Esther Cooper & Toni Cade would be the most prominent outside of Angela.
Even still some of the other ladies pics can be in OP. Mae Mallory, Ella Baker, etc,. :word:
The Polynesian Panthers were lit
Part one of a documentary about them

They also have a ~170 page book that was written by a former member.

still don't know how i haven't gotten tired of listening to chapo
I don't like em that much tbh
A very underappreciated socialist is Lysander Spooner. His most popular works are The Unconstitutionality of Slavery which was an abolitionist work & No Treason which is pretty much Anarchist critique of the Constitution but he wrote about economics specifically in Poverty: Its Illegal Causes and Legal Cure.
"every man, woman, and child. . . could . . . go into business for himself, or herself – either singly, or in partnerships – and be under no necessity to act as a servant, or sell his or her labour to others. All the great establishments, of every kind, now in the hands of a few proprietors, but employing a great number of wage labourers, would be broken up; for few, or no persons, who could hire capital, and do business for themselves, would consent to labour for wages for another." A Letter to Grover Cleveland, p. 41
"When a man knows that he is to have all the fruits of his labour, he labours with more zeal, skill, and physical energy, than when he knows – as in the case of one labouring for wages – that a portion of the fruits of his labour are going to another. . . In order that each man may have the fruits of his own labour, it is important, as a general rule, that each man should be his own employer, or work directly for himself, and not for another for wages; because, in the latter case, a part of the fruits of his labour go to his employer, instead of coming to himself . . . That each man may be his own employer, it is necessary that he have materials, or capital, upon which to bestow his labour." Poverty: Its Illegal Causes and Legal Cure, p. 8
It's so weird he gets quotes by right libertarians. He was anti-capitalist af. In fact he was a member of First International
He was Libertarian Socialist familia.

I believe that what we call authoritarianism in many socialist countries throughout history is just these government protecting themselves from capitalist encirclement. If the threat of being overthrown by internal and external wasn't there, we wouldn't have seen such authoritarianism. Look at how socialist projects that played by the rules of liberal democracy ended up (Bolivia, Chile, Nicaragua etc.)
Doesn't mean that these governments shouldn't be critically assessed for the excesses of how they exercize political control, but it's much more easier said than done to relax control at home, when those oppositional political parties will almost certainlu receive funding and/or military support from imperialists abroad to overthrow the revolution.
This sums up my thoughts on authoritarianism pretty nicely:

didn't mean to quote you just wanted to say that direct democracy within communities is always how i imagined things should be

!https://youtu.be/6gtUaGV6mNII was just thinking about this because I saw a lot of pro Chinese post from you recently
While I agree that the USA is involved in the hk conflict and they’re using propaganda we can’t just dismiss that the Chinese government is also using heavy propaganda but a lot of tankies are so ideological possessed that they don’t realize this
I even see tankies on Reddit defending north Korea’s authoritarian regime
I just feel like an authoritarian system will never lead to true socialism

Pro-China? Just because I don't think China is Nazi Germany 2.0 and oppose US aggression doesn't mean I support them. Just like me not buying into all the propaganda against Iran doesn't mean I'm a follower of the Ayatollah.
