One dude brought up some infographic of world opinions on China and then synopsis called him out for the graph failing to include the rest of the world (global south) and he was like “why would I care about what the developing world thinks about China”

F***ing idiot nerd typical western chauvinism

I lived in the USA as a kid and I remember that we couldn't even walk to school despite it being near because there was no side-walk and the road would have been to dangerous to walk on We lived in some typical suburb community, it was nice as a child to play around in the yards and have the community swimming pool but when I think of it as an adult, even shopping for groceries would be a big chore

I've been thinking about getting the f*** out but i'm not sure how. I feel like living in any european country is better but it probably has very very similar flaws

Been thinking about moving to latin america too but living standards would just massively drop + climate change would hit hard. no idea

I have heard from a few Americans that they really like Germany more

There are a few cool things about the USA no doubt but also some bad ones

You are basically picking your poison because Germany has its own set of flaws

I am not sure if my life would have been better or worse in the USA tbh

One cool thing would have been to be on a university campus I think, most students in Germany don't live on campus (like 90% - 95%) so I never had that stereotypical college culture thing in my life

But then again maybe I would have had university debt lol

i think it really depends on what you're worried about specifically and trying to mitigate. if all you're worried about is like healthcare and socialized services or something then yeah europe is probably a decent bet. my girlfriend is german so i spend like roughly a quarter to half the year there (whether in germany or other parts of europe) and there are definitely other issues though; there really isn't a perfect country so you should probably try to consider what issues matter most to you that you're looking to go elsewhere.

Found an interesting Podcast id recommend if anyone is interested on the Chinese revolution and history prior to the revolution, also looking at same of the episode descriptions he gives book recs if anyone want any even deeper look at a part. Matthew Rothwell ( the podcast host) also wrote a book on how the Chinese revolution influenced various Latin America called the Transpacific revolution.
