much like the people writing this stuff, it can be this fun if you start doing meth and melt your brain until you reach the point of unfiltered psychosis then spend all your time reading conspiracy websites

can’t wait for my mom to find out her son in jail after reading the headline “Canadian Maoists jailed for trying to blow up CN tower with homemade bombs and possession of meth”

its a neverending cycle because academics are paid to generate articles/publications on strict timelines which don't actually match up to how long real theory (or in a practical field, real research and data) actually take. The assumption at the top level of academia is thousands of professors can just keep churning out "theory" and "research" on a repeated set of deadlines infinitely. Most of this is then processed by groups giving money in exchange for information when in reality is not even checked for validity or meaningfulness, it's just made sure it's not plagiarized at best. Thus you essentially have academia turned into a literal monkey with a typewriter, where because of the broken incentives and completely broken process alongside the infinite need for research by a ever-expanding group of people, you get absolute nonsense churned out which is increasingly more and more nonsensical or meaningless. Which on hand wouldn't matter in a vacuum, but actual institutions still depend on these smoothbrains - so all of this utter nonsense gets fed right to government agencies, medical groups, etc.
