The function of the state is to grow state power as for the second bit I have not read the source so can't provide context

Well if it was about the state itself and nothing else then why does the state allow for private property to not only exist, but to be its primary form of property to the extent to which it's possible without destroying the system from within by the contradictions of the capitalist mode of production?

States didn't exist until class did.

The lenghts that the US went and still is going to overthrow the Cuban revolution really are insane.

In 1959 the US told the British not to sell arms to Cuba so that they would have to get them from the Soviets, which would then give them the justification for their aggression against Cuba based on Soviet involvement.

It really is a miracle that the revolution survived honestly.

iirc philosophers from this background believe basically in hyper-deconstructionism to the extent they believe that both class and economics are just constructs. almost all this stuff is based on radical post-modern/deconstructionist theory (not saying this in a jordan peterson way as a disclaimer, thats like literally what its based on lol)

A state does not exist without a class to use its services against another

The state cannot be a class itself, as it serves classes

The state cannot be abolished before class is abolished, as the state is resultant of the contradiction between class

there are lots of conservatives in blue collar labor unions, socially conservative union members are probably the single most unrepresented demographic in the US

For someone who couldnt even finish his work and died over a 100 years ago it's crazy how Marx got a piece on almost everything and so much of his body of work is still relevant today. I guess it's just that the same things have been occuring again and again since the 1850s.

To be fair, you could probably say this about almost anyone that wrote influential philosophical or socioeconomic works. People still citing Socrates & Plato as relevant for debating societal structure like 2400 years later

I actually, for the short term, am a bit of a socialist, but not economically. I'm into free markets. What can I say? I think capitalism can solve some things.
