The tucker carlson situation kinda absurd if you think about it . We talking about an heir to TWO DIFFERENT gilded age old robber baron families, son of the head of the CIA's official propaganda arm, raised in the world of Washington's political elite, went to elite boarding schools, got a liberal arts degree and tried to join the CIA before settling for a spot as a libertarian pundit on CNN. Supported NAFTA, the Patriot Act, Iraq/Afghanistan War, etc etc any demonic legislation from the last 30 years. Reports directly to a billionaire media tycoon, works at the biggest cable news channel in America.

BUT he says China sends gay immigrants to take jobs from white male Americans and get them hooked to woke fentanyl, so he's actually an anti-establishment Populist working Class ally

It's wild to me how much hate you get sometimes being anti-capitalist

It's really not just propaganda tho it's far beyond that

People just wanna believe in their lil fairy tales, it's comforting

"I deserved everything i got, everybody below me should have just worked harder or smarter, everybody above me worked for it and if i keep working i'll get there too"

Even if people can say "yeah but life isn't fair" about some specific situations, they deep down wanna hold on to the idea that on some fundamental level you still get what you deserve

I guess when you're so invested in that narrative of meritocracy, it's personally very discouraging and painful for some to hear it getting critiqued so ruthlessly, they want to avoid the guilt they fear they would feel for those less fortunate or the envy for those at the top, and in a way their life would lose some meaning

People are deeply attached to these illusions they've not only been fed by propaganda, but spontaneously come to believe by navitating through society themselves. It's the opium of the people, not just simply imposed on the people, and when that gets taken away from you of course it's gonna hurt and of course you're gonna get mad at whoever took it away from you

i can at least see how people w/o proper educated backgrounds on the topic or on history can come to that conclusion based on misinformation from media and whatnot. This whole "equality of outcome" thing I have no idea where it came from, it's such an insane talking point
