Is communism a form of conservativism? Conservatives want to conserve the past. The most successful socialist/communist countries were a product of the industrial revolution, when working conditions were terrible. I wonder if you placed a communist factory worker of the early 1900s in 2022, would he still be communist?

no communism isnt a form of conservatism, conservatism back then depending on the area would mean different things one area, could be talking about conserving feudalism while other areas might mean conserving capitalism, like with everything it changes with the times and place. Read upon the history of these communist governments they often tried to get rid of their citizen reactionaries belief like in China the whole "women hold up half the sky movement" to get rid of sexism, the communist party is meant to uplift the masses to the next stage, not stagnant. If ur bored I suggest watching this (around the 1 hour and 14 min mark) theres a moment where a guy talks about how he was sexist before but changed due to the movement.
also the second part of the question it of course gonna change depending on the individual and such, but for simplicity stack lets say in the western world I would say they wont be a communist due to the massive failure of the communist here to propagandise and organise.

last time there was a big communist movement in the west was the 60s, why it failed well a mixture of the state doing a great job in suppressing the communist like in the USA with COINTELPRO, and the failure of the communists themselves like in France with their Communist Party during May 68 settling for double the wages rather than push for the revolution which the workers and students wanted themselves and the French government itself fearing that a revolution was coming and decided to flee France.

There’s a lot of Iraq vets that deserve the wall don’t get me wrong but it’s a lot of young dumb kids who went in there thinking they were doing something good because they were easily influenced by a lot of propaganda and came out really disillusioned and really f***ed up. Not saying that’s any where close to the majority by any means but it’s just edgy posturing to say EVERYONE who fought in Iraq deserves such
